Interface Design

One of the most exciting parts of my job at Modem Media was the opportunity to go beyond simple, static web pages. While I was there I was fortunate enough to have a chance to develop everything from web-based tools to wireless applications for PDAs.

Project: Benjamin Moore - My Project Notebook

Synopsis: This site included an application that allowed users to save project notes, choose a paint type, pick colors and calculate how much paint the job required. I collaborated with an art director to iron out the interactions and was responsible for creating the functional flow documentation. The project was the company's first XML-based project and earned us a WebAward in 2002.

Benjamin Moore Project Summary

Synopsis: We designed this site to be a companion for people who were actually going through the Weight Watchers program. The site provided a number of tools including a meal planner, a recipe search and a fitness calculator that helped users integrate daily exercise into their routine. I helped write instructional copy for the site and also created the interface labels. Changes based on information from usability tests were integrated integrated into the final designs.
